Bible prophecy tells us that during the reign of the Antichrist, (who will oversee a global financial/economic/political system), a equally powerful global religious system will work alongside the Antichrist, (under the lead of the False Prophet), to implement the New World Order agenda, (the first 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation).
This man-made attempt at establishing a utopian society will ensnare millions of people who will unfortunately gladly accept the Mark of the Antichrist to participate in this new order.
Many prophecy observers anticipate that it will be the Church of Rome that will be the basis of this new global religious system.
Rome has for many years been working on the ecumenical plans of reuniting all the Christian churches under the wing of the Catholic Church. In addition to working with the other major religions of the world in attempting to bring about "social justice".
Even many Evangelical leaders and Churches are being seduced into this ecumenical, social justice, all ways lead to God, new way to do Christianity. The Great commission has been changed by these leaders from Jesus refrain of "Preach the Gospel" to the new refrain of "Fix the problems of the World". This new refrain will make it so easy to bring about this new false religious system of the Tribulation period.
