INTRODUCCI`oN A LA QABALAH -

Qabalah es una palabra de origen hebreo, cuya ra'iz es el verbo "qbl" (quibel), que significa recibir. La palabra Qabalah se conforma adicionando la letra h (qblh), y su significado es tradici'on.

QBL: Letras hebreas: Qoph, Beth y Lamed - "recibir"

QBLh: Letras hebreas: Qoph, Beth, Lamed y He - "tradici'on"

Una tradici'on es una transmisi'on continua, de generaci'on en generaci'on, y en el caso de la Qabalah es una sabidur'ia que proviene desde la antig"uedad, casi siempre transmitida en forma vocal (de boca a o'ido), de maestros a disc'ipulos.

Las ense~nanzas mencionan que "fue transmitida al hombre para guiar su desarrollo espiritual". Seg'un el c'elebre ocultista S.L. MacGregor Mathers, en su obra "La Kabbalah desvelada", 'esta trata principalmente acerca de:

- El creador; su naturaleza y atributos.

- La cosmogon'ia (desarrollo sobre el origen y la evoluci'on del universo).

- La creaci'on de los 'angeles y del hombre.

- El destino del hombre y de los 'angeles.

- La naturaleza del alma.

- La naturaleza de los 'angeles, demonios y elementales.

- Los peculiares misterios contenidos en las letras hebreas.

- El equilibrio de los contrarios.

Aunque el estudio y la pr'actica de la Qabalah conllevan ciertamente beneficios fundamentales para el desarrollo fixed humano, logrados principalmente a trav'es de la comprensi'on; como por ejemplo:

Para que la sabidur'ia se haga presente, se basa en el conocimiento y el entendimiento, fundamentos indispensables para lograr la expansi'on de la conciencia: iluminaci'on.

Hacia la Qabalah contempor'anea

Luego de la muerte del gran qabalista Sime'on Ben Jochai, quien vivi'o en la 'epoca de la destrucci'on

del segundo templo, su hijo Rab'i Eleazar y su secretario Rab'i Abba,

disc'ipulos adelantados, publicaron un importante tratado llamado "Zhr"

(Zohar: Esplendor), una de las obras magnas de la Qabalah.

- Sepher ha Zohar (El libro del esplendor), de Rab'i Sime'on Ben Jochai,

alrededor del siglo II - IV, aparentemente reescrito por Rab'i Moses de

Le'on en el siglo XIII, y publicado en Espa~na. Es b'asicamente una

ex'egesis de la Torah (Antiguo Testamento o Pentateuco).

Otros textos muy relevantes de la Qabalah son:

- Sepher ha Yetzirah (El libro de la formaci'on), atribuido a Rab'i Akiba

(Joseph ben Uziel), siglo XVIII. Se supone que las ense~nanzas expuestas

en 'el, provienen del profeta Abraham. Desarrolla sobre la simbolog'ia de

los 10 n'umeros y las 22 letras del alfabeto (hebreo), exponiendo acerca

de los llamados "32 senderos de sabidur'ia".

- Sepher Sephiroth (El libro de las magnitudes, o emanaciones). Trata la doctrina de las emanaciones y de la manifestaci'on.

- Asch Metzareph (El fuego purificador). Desarrolla sobre la ciencia de la alquimia.

Aunque es sabido que estas ense~nanzas tienen varios miles de a~nos, la primera

escuela Qabal'istica de la cual existe registro fue la Escuela de Gerona

en Espa~na (siglo XII), fundada por Isaac el ciego.

Divisiones de la Qabalah

Para comprender mejor la estructura de la Qabalah y poder abordarla ordenadamente, suele divid'irsela en cuatro 'areas definidas:

- Qabalah pr'actica

- Qabalah particular (o escrita)

- Qabalah vocal

- Qabalah dogm'atica

La Qabalah pr'actica (u operativa) trata lo referente a rituales, ceremoniales y talismanes, es decir, el aprovechamiento concreto de la

sabidur'ia Qabal'istica, en la pr'actica. De aqu'i que a algunas ramas de

estudio casi totalmente te'oricas se las llama "especulativas".

La Qabalah particular corresponde al estudio de las escrituras, con la

utilizaci'on de los sistemas de tratamiento, interpretaci'on y cifrado /

descifrado de textos, que se dividen en tres; sucintamente:

- Temurah (que trata el relacionamiento entre las palabras, y ciertas formas de cifrado)

- Gematr'ia (la filosof'ia y estudio de las relaciones entre las letras y los n'umeros, y sus misterios)

- Notariqon (que trata principalmente de la formaci'on de palabras clave)

La Qabalah vocal o "Qabalah secreta" es la parte de esta tradici'on m'as

guardada y protegida, concedida generalmente bajo estricto secreto y en

forma muy directa. Se trata de "ciertos misterios" o claves que encajan

definitivamente las piezas m'as delicadas del rompecabezas del

entendimiento profundo y sus revelaciones.

La Qabalah dogm'atica es la porci'on doctrinal (escrita: los textos sagrados) de la sabidur'ia,

que contiene los axiomas y fundamentos m'as importantes.

Qabalah y Magia

La magia es el arte supremo de la sabidur'ia. La sabidur'ia incorporada

conscientemente. Algunos autores definen la magia como "el arte de

realizar cambios en la naturaleza a voluntad":

Seg'un Apolonio de Tyana (siglo I), en la carta XVII dirigida a Eufrates: "Los Persas

llaman Magos a los hombres que tienen alguna semejanza con la

divinidad. Un Mago es, pues, un hombre (o mujer) que es ministro de los

Dioses o que tiene por naturaleza esa semejanza".

Para Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa: "Es una ciencia Divina".

"Magia es la ciencia tradicional de los secretos de la naturaleza que nos ha

sido transmitida por nuestros antecesores", escribi'o Eliphas Levi.

"Magia es la aplicaci'on de la voluntad humana (proveniente del alma) a la

evoluci'on r'apida de las fuerzas vivientes de la naturaleza", seg'un

Gerard Encausse (Conocido como Papus).

La palabra "magia" originalmente significaba la sabidur'ia de los m'isticos de Oriente:

"Magus" o "Magi", designaci'on que aplicaba a los miembros de la clase

sacerdotal en Persia.

La palabra deriva probablemente del s'anscrito "magha", que significa adem'as de una clase de personas, "gran riqueza".

Magia es un aspecto del conocimiento que tiene que ver con la conciencia.

Buscando entender la esencia de todas las cosas, aplicando esa

sabidur'ia para asegurar el bienestar different y colectivo. Se puede

demostrando que a veces, la fe y la sabidur'ia superan al mero

Aunque para muchos Qabalistas ortodoxos especulativos, la magia nada tiene que ver con la

Qabalah; esta 'ultima desde su 'angulo pr'actico deviene en la llamada

Magia Qabal'istica, ya que aprovecha las ense~nanzas de la Qabalah para

actuar junto con las fuerzas de la naturaleza moldeando la realidad, o

bien actuando como co-creadores con ella.

La Magia Qabal'istica es la uni'on de la antigua sabidur'ia de los m'isticos (Magus) con la doctrina

My strongest area is to go on instinct and work with emotions. I know others who are very visual and get images sent to them. The key factor is to recognise what is happening to you for what it is. You need to try and stop fears or your worries of the moment taking over as these can make you feel that your psychic senses are on alert when in fact you are just very emotional.

My psychic energies feel to me to be coming from a different place. I can almost locate the area of my brain that has leapt into action. If I then tune into this and concentrate I can feel like I am in a totally different state of being. By working with it as much as possible and testing myself I have now built up faith in my abilities.

So how can you develop this yourself and use it in your witchcraft?

Principally, practise. I use meditation to clear the mind of all distractions so that I can connect to the inner realm. It will always feel more powerful and often will come in a flash, tonnes of information coming to me at once. I often get asked by people to look at a situation or set of events and see if there could be a sign of something significant in it. In my experience, it is the strong rush of feelings and meanings that come to me first, followed by the sign. The sign is the confirmation. If you find yourself having to assign meanings to the events it is very possible it is not a sign at all! This is why meditation brings clarity - it's just you and your abilities with nothing else to distract you.

The best advice I can give is to test yourself. Firstly, try as many different ways of connecting that you can. Work with emotions one day, and then look to verify your experiences afterwards to see how accurate you were. Next, try visual cues such as placing pictures in front of you and see what images are placed in your mind (to me this always feels as if it's appearing about 3 or 4 inches in front of my forehead). Some people get very strong physical sensations such as warmth, cold or even a buzzing feeling around them. Test as many different methods as you can.

When you learn to locate your psychic ability you will be able to switch it on for your spell work, regardless of the type of spell you are casting. You can use it to strength the spell, to seek out weaknesses (if something just doesn't feel right) or - if other circumstances dictate that the timing is right - bring faster results. Most importantly, it'll be a make your spell work a much more fulfilling experience for you all round.
