Mr. Mooney was born in Grayson County. He moved to Canadian in 1938 from McKinney. He was a combat engineer for the Army during World War II. He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was an assistant foreman and worked for the Texas State Highway Department for 38 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by an infant son in 1941 and his wife, Ora Bell Mooney, in 1965. Survivors include two brothers, Billy Mooney of Amarillo and C.J. He retired from active duty as a technical sergeant with the Air Force in 1962 and was a civilian at Amarillo Air Force Base and Keesler Air Force Base. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He earned many awards during his military service including the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal with a bronze clasp and five loops. He also earned the Air Force Longevity Service Award with four oak leaf clusters. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Peter Northcutt and Raymond Northcutt, both of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Pat Matthews of Australia and Judy Wallar of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Amarillo Eugene P. Cox Eugene P. "Gene" Cox, 61, of 5209 Astoria St., died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996. Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Charles Davenport of First Baptist Church of Tulia officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Cox was born in Clarendon and had lived in Amarillo all of his life. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953 and from McMurray College in 1957. He worked for Panhandle Savings and Gibraltar Savings. He also worked for Time Chemical for 13 years and for Clean Care for three years. He was a former member of the South Amarillo Optimist Club. He was a Methodist. He married Virginia Prince in 1956 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Teresa Cook of Mandeville, La., and Stephanie Cox of Amarillo; a son, Greg Cox of North Richland Hills; his mother, Aline Cox of Amarillo; a sister, Rose Paul of Joplin, Mo.; and three grandchildren. June Stanhope June Stanhope, 62, of 2511 Orange St., died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Stanhope was born in Texas. She married Max Stanhope in 1973 at Las Vegas. She was a mechanic at Bell Helicopter for 15 years before retiring. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Murphy, in 1987. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kim Blevins of Gruver; two sons, Wayne Murphy of Amarillo and Jason Hefner of Huntsville; four stepsons, Randy Stanhope and Steve Stanhope, both of Amarillo, Ronnie Stanhope of Dalhart and Jimmy Stanhope of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Mary Weiss of Buckner; 18 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Maxine Hendrix Bell Maxine Hendrix Bell, 76, a former Amarillo resident, died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, in Mission Viejo, Calif. Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene H. Bell. Satterfield, 37, of Amarillo, was found Monday, Dec. 9, 1996. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Robert Bennett of Freedom Baptist Church officiating. Cremation is by Memorial Park Crematory. Mr. Satterfield was born in Austin. He moved to Amarillo in 1965 from Michigan. He graduated from Amarillo High School. He served two tours of duty with the Navy from 1977 to 1985. He was a firefighter with the Amarillo Fire Department from 1986 to 1993. He was a Protestant. Survivors include a son, Jason Christopher Satterfield of Huffman; a daughter, Jessica Nichole Satterfield of Huffman; his father, Ronald A. Satterfield of Toledo, Ohio; his stepmother, Shirley Satterfield of Amarillo; a brother, Gary Satterfield of Amarillo; two sisters, Brenda Abbott of Lubbock and Glenda Hill of Columbia, S.C.; and grandparents, Elizabeth Emmons of Bangs and Charlotte Bridges of Amarillo. Patterson, 87, of Amarillo, was found Monday, Dec. 9, 1996. Services will be at noon Friday in San Jacinto United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Cox officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Friona Cemetery at Friona by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Patterson was born in Copeville. He farmed in Friona from 1949 until 1970 when he moved to Amarillo. For many years he owned and operated O.T. PattersonNos Used Cars in Amarillo. He retired in 1991. He was a longtime member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church and was active in many facets of the church. He also was a member of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge No. 1239, the El Paso Scottish Rite and the Khiva Temple. He was active with the Khiva Greeters and served as the Captain of the Greeters in 1971. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lucille Patterson, in 1959; a son, David Patterson, in 1975; and his second wife, Pearl Patterson, in 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Billie Wood of Atlanta and June Moore of Richardson; a sister, Neva Burgin of Arlington; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Northcutt, 81, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996. There will be no services. Cremation was by Memorial Park Crematory. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Northcutt was born in Copperas Cove and had lived in Amarillo for 30 years. He married Audrey Crawford in 1991 at Amarillo. He was an illustrator in the operations division of the 3380th Technical School at Keesler Air Force Base. He received a certificate of retirement that concluded 29 years of federal service. He retired from active duty as a technical sergeant with the Air Force in 1962 and was a civilian at Amarillo Air Force Base and Keesler Air Force Base. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He earned many awards during his military service including the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal with a bronze clasp and five loops. He also earned the Air Force Longevity Service Award with four oak leaf clusters. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Peter Northcutt and Raymond Northcutt, both of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Pat Matthews of Australia and Judy Wallar of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The body will not be available for viewing. Oklahoma Abraham V. Balzer CORN, Okla. - Abraham V. Balzer, 93, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 1996. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Gospel of Grace Church at Hooker with Gary Wiens, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery at Hooker by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker. Mr. Balzer was born in McPherson County, Kan., and moved to the Hooker area in 1906. He attended Fairview School. He was a charter member of Gospel of Grace Church and served many years on the church board as treasurer. He married Helen Hamm in 1927. They farmed and operated a drapery business. In 1971, they moved to Hooker and lived there until 1988, when they moved to Parkside Homes at Hillsboro, Kan. In 1994, they moved to Corn Heritage Village at Corn. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Balzer of Weatherford and LeVon Balzer of Siloam Springs, Ark.; a brother, Jake Balzer of Hillsboro; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He moved with his family moved to Texhoma in 1993. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Beesinger was born in Seminole, Okla. She moved with her family in 1937 to the Heald community five miles northeast of McLean, Texas. She attended Heald Grade School and McLean High School. She retired after 30 years as a cashier with Acme Supermarkets. She also had worked as a literacy council counselor at C. Burr Artz Library. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the church ladies auxiliary. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kay Shankle Smith, in 1993. Survivors include a son, David L. Shankle Jr. of Frederick; four sisters, Ora Billingsley of Heavener, Okla., Betty Kidwell of Bethany, Okla., Nova Lee Pardue of Grand Prairie, Texas, and June Dressler of Amarillo; a grandson; and six stepgrandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. MST Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. CST in Castro Memorial Gardens at Dimmitt, Texas. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Bradley was born in Dimmitt. He graduated from Dimmitt High School and later moved to Clapham. He had worked for the last several years as a manager at the Felt Feed Yard. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the properties committee, a substitute Sunday school teacher and an usher. Survivors include two daughters, Terri Trujillo and Patty Geary, both of Clayton; two sons, Ty Bradley of Clayton and Tag Bradley of Hugoton, Kan.; his parents, Dent and Bessie Bradley of Dimmitt; a sister, Kay Magee of McLean, Texas; two brothers, Gene and Ray Bradley of Dimmitt; a grandmother, Dixie Bradley of Dimmitt; and nine grandchildren.
